Richard Germain


Creative Director, AML, UK

Richard is a creative team leader and copywriter with 20 years’ experience, particularly with financial companies. He started as a junior at London agencies Mustoe Merriman Herring Levy and Davies Little Cowley, before moving to leading City agency Dewe Rogerson to work on Scottish Widows, creating award-winning TV campaigns featuring the famous Scottish Widow ‘living brand icon’.

During his time there, and post-merger with Citigate, Richard developed a leading knowledge of the creative challenges facing financial, professional services and advisory businesses, including Prudential, Friends Provident, IFA Promotions, Selftrade, E*Trade, Société Générale, Aberdeen, and JPMorgan. He also created campaigns for many charities, most notably the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Richard then became Head of Copy at CST The Gate, under the guidance of Dave Trott, before moving to AML in 2013.  Richard runs AML’s creative department and is Creative Director for the agency’s clients, including global brands AXA Investment Managers and Robeco.
