Grand Jury

The Midas Grand Jury includes client and agency leaders from the creative and marketing disciplines, as well as internationally recognized experts in financial policy and communications. These judges offer their perspectives not only on how well a message is delivered, but how it is received. Gold and Silver Midas ingots are presented to the highest-scoring entries, and a Grand Midas winner is selected as the competition's "Best of Show."

John Barker is the recipient of over 100 international awards during his 30 year career. Before founding the agency in 2003, he served in senior positions within Grey Worldwide and Sony Music. Among other notable accomplishments, he has piloted branding and advertising campaigns for many of the world’s foremost marketers, including Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, Estee Lauder, Sprint, Hasbro, Bloomberg, and McGraw Hill.

Currently MinYen is working at SapientNitro as an senior UX designer to help fortune 100 clients expand their digital design territory. As also a digital artist, MinYen held numbers of group and solo exhibition around the world. His work has been featured in Adobe Design Award, PromaxBDA, A Design Award, etc. He was also interviewed by the Art Directors Club Tomorrow Awards for its "Voices of the Future" series.

Devin Kennedy

After graduating from the University of Port Elizabeth with a B.com industrial psychology degree and completing a post graduate degree at AAA School of Advertising in Cape Town, morbid curiosity and the need to pay the rent made Devin Kennedy take his first job in Windhoek, Namibia. After a year stint and winning the Grand Prix at Namibia’s local advertising awards he decided to return to Cape Town in 1999 where he joined the King James Group as junior copywriter. About 21914 cups of coffee later, he was appointed creative director and a member of the Board in 2007 and executive creative director in 2012.
For his sins, he has a generous helping of both local and international awards, which include golds at Cannes, Clios, One Show, London International, as well as Grand Prix and Ad of the Year in South Africa.

Erik Norin

Erik is a creative director at Wieden+Kennedy New York. Before that Erik worked at R/GA New York—named ‘The Digital Agency of the Decade.’ At R/GA Erik worked with clients such as MasterCard, McCormick, Microsoft and Impulse. Before joining R/GA Erik worked as a senior creative and creative director with Swedish agency Farfar for 8 years. Farfar was one of the world’s most successful digital agencies, ranked by The Gunn Report among the top 5 for the last five years, peaking at #1 in 2007. Erik has created numerous global, award-winning campaigns and worked with brands like Absolut Vodka, Adidas, Bjorn Borg, NGage, Nokia (including the pitch that won owners of Farfar, Isobar, the Global Digital Nokia account), Red Bull, Heineken and a bunch of Swedish brands. Before Erik joined Farfar he worked at awarded agencies Houdini (Sweden) and Dennis Interactive in New York. Erik has also acted as everything from CEO to janitor of his own company. Erik has as background as a Flash artist/Interactive designer and have studied script development, drama production, motion graphics/design, advertising, media, communication and more. Erik has been a frequent member of national and international juries and he’s held workshops in Cannes and other places. He was also in charge of the Farfar Academy—an education set up with renowned ad school Berghs in Stockholm, Sweden—educating young (digital) creatives and strategists. Erik was also recently shortlisted as Sweden’s most influential digital creatives and in March of 2011, W&V Magazine listed Erik as the 9th Best Creative Director in the World.

Kirti Srikant

Kirti Srikant joined OppenheimerFunds in September 2010 to digitize the advertising and media strategies for the firm. She oversees brand marketing, advertising, media strategy, brand sponsorships and agency relationships. Her approach to advertising for the “Globalize your thinkingTM” campaign earned over 30 accolades. Most recently, “Growth.Income.Protection*” has earned over 10 industry awards for digital and multi-media advertising FCS Portfolio, Midas, and Gramercy Institute’s ‘Best Media Strategy.’
Previously, Ms. Srikant spent over four years at Citigroup overseeing digital advertising and marketing strategy. She also held roles where she designed and oversaw online advertising strategies, cross-sell, event sponsorships / marketing and acquisition marketing across the manufacturing and entertainment industries.
Ms. Srikant is the recipient of ‘Brand Innovators 40 Under 40’, ‘Gramercy Institute’s 20 Rising Stars in Financial Marketing 2013’, ‘AWNY’s Advertising Working Mother of the Year 2012’. Kirti volunteers her time as board of director for the Financial Communications Society, supporting charities through the organizations’ works.

Kirti received her MBA from the Columbia Business School and a B.S. in Corporate Communications & Marketing from the City University of New York. A native New Yorker, Kirti lives with her daughter and husband in FiDi. She spends her free time performing with her charity band, ‘Mayhem’.

The first Australian awarded the Irving Wunderman Award for lifetime achievement at the 30th Caples Award Show. In the same year, I was also named Australian Direct Marketer of the Year.

Both in his own right as an art director and as the lead of several creative departments over the last 20 years, Liam has collected an impressive array of international and local awards. In the little spare time he has, he likes to chase a little white ball with a big stick around beautifully manicured lawns.
